
Mr. Stamson is a life long resident of Shelby County and is the former Juvenile Court Clerk. He began his tenure with Shelby County Government in 1983 as a Business Tax Collector in the Shelby County Clerk’s Office. He was promoted to the position of Manager of the Business Tax Division in 1986. He was appointed to the position of Chief Deputy of the Juvenile Court Clerk’s Office by former Clerk C. R. “Bob” Martin in 1993. He was appointed to the position of Administrator of the Civil Division in the General Sessions Clerk’s Office by former Clerk Chris Turner in 2000. He was elected as Juvenile Court Clerk in 2002 and retired in 2010.
Mr. Stamson finished high school in 1969. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served in combat in Vietnam as a rifleman and received and Honorable discharge in 1971. He was employed with the International Harvester Company until 1983 when began working for Shelby County Government.

Mr. Stamson has been happily married to Debbie Stamson the former County Clerk for 30 years and has two sons and two grandchildren. He is enjoying his retirement with family, travel and serving on the Election Commission.
